August 14, 2019

A CDN, or Content Delivery Network, distributes your web site files to servers across the globe. This allows your web … site visitors to get faster delivery of your web site, regardless of where they live, because the files will be … served to them from servers that are close to them geographically. This Lesson is only relevant if you have a WP Engine Plan above the Personal Plan, or if you enabled … the CDN add-on feature for the Personal Plan. If not, there is an upcoming Lesson that enables a Content Delivery Network for Images using JetPack, which will give … your web site a nice performance boost, without the need for a full CDN. I also cover how to setup Cloudflare, which is a free premium-level CDN. To enable CDN, first login to WP Engine. Within the WP Engine Dashboard click the Install name. From the left navigation menu, click on the CDN link. Put a check in where it says Enable CDN, and click the Save button. That’s it for this lesson.
