  1. the mystery… that's yet to come
could be sad or lots of fun
it's up to you… to see it through
but first back at cha happy new year!

  2. Thank you very much, TheGodOfPegana! I use Anime Studio Pro for the character animation, and then assemble them in Adobe After Effects.

  3. Great, right? My friend David Norland outdid himself on the tune! I have now heard it about 800 times in the process of animating, and I still love it! So many great little details in there, too!

  4. Hi Diplo Docus! No, I didn't. I still need to learn Flash. I used Anime Studio Pro for the characters, and After Effects for the assembly.

  5. "last year is history, what's next a mystery" : I think I heard the same thing in Kung Fu Panda. Is this from a saying ?
    Great video 🙂

  6. Is that right? Ha! I'll have to watch it again! After David had put the words to music, I remembered Hugh Laurie's excellent song, "Mystery." If it's in Kung Fu Panda, it wasn't a conscious reference. :^)

  7. I think the quote in the movie is actually "there's a saying : yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift, that is why it is called the present", so it didn't sound like david was making a reference, but these words sound so right together I was wondering if it really was a saying somewhere. Didn't think of Hugh Laurie's song though, although it is an unforgetable song.
Again, great video, looking forward to more 🙂

  8. love the tune, love the monsters, love the music– this is just adorable. Hope you don't mind I blogged it for New Years on my Political Packrat blog ( with appropriate credit and link to you of course)

So Happy New Year and I am now an avid fan of your website and your monsters:-)

  9. Not at all, Roberta! Thank you for spreading the love! :^) And for the kind words, too! I'm glad you like the Monsters!

  10. I enjoy everything you do so much. You are one of those people that make this world a better place by creating. Thanks you so much!

  11. I did blown ink monsters with my kids' art class today and I wanted to show them your videos on my kindle, but it wouldn't allow them to play on a mobile device, so we had to settle for still shots. Phooey! Love your work, though!

  12. Phooey, indeed! I'm sorry about that, quickchinnock. I'm not sure what's going on there. It's playing fine on my mobile gizmos, and I didn't set up any roadblocks on YouTube, but I also don't have a Kindle to test this out for you. I hope it was just a momentary error. Thank you for showing off the Monsters, and for the compliment! :^)

  13. Oh, thank you, bitarstar! I'm glad you like it. The first Monster actually appeared to me on my arm as I was driving. (Not something that happens to me a lot.) Since then I've just kept making more creatures. :^)
