Aircraft maintenance of Boeing 737 and Airbus 320 | SAS

September 9, 2019

This is where we do heavy maintenance
on our 737s and Airbus 320s. We open up everything and look inside. The passengers only see the cosmetics, we want to see the inside. There we go… Let’s have a look. This is what the passengers don’t see.
That is the air-conditioning system. The cables are intact. They aren’t
damaged or rubbing against anything. This is our auxiliary power unit. This is used during take-off. This is the APU. It’s an auxiliary unit
for the supply of air and electricity, which provides power
when starting the main engines. You have to take care of the plane.
Maintenance is needed after every flight, and a more thorough check is needed
every night. Constant maintenance. This controls the tail part. Spaces like these are important to us,
so we can get in and look around. We check the abradable
on the engine in here. Here…
The blades also need to be inspected. Everything you remove
needs to be inspected and greased. Safety is important.
It’s the most important thing. I guess you could say
that we are the travelers’ angels.
