  2. The engine and propellers were cleaned and preserved for display at the time in local museums etc. Recording Devon's local aviation history.

    I was at the time a keen aviation enthusiast, but have not been involved with the group since.
    They would have done all the research on the engine. I remember seeing a photo of the aircraft on the deck of the aircraft carrier in Torbay after the landing before they put it over the side. The bent props matched up.

  4. I have not heard from the group in over 20 years now. So I don't know what happened to the engine. Hopefully it found a good home.

  5. Either you Cant count or that's not a centaurus which was an 18 cylinder sleeve valve engine and not an ordinary radial engine.
