Flying with a REAL ID (30 second version)

February 15, 2020

Starting October 1, 2020, you will need to present
a Real I.D.-compliant I.D., or an acceptable alternative
I.D., to fly within the U.S. If your license or I.D.
is not compliant, you will need an alternate
form of identification, such as a passport,
military I.D., or DHS trusted traveler card.
Generally, compliant I.D.s will have a star
or other security marking. If you’re not sure
if your card is compliant, consult with your state
driver’s license agency for a list of acceptable
I.D.s, information
on travel procedures, or what to expect
at the checkpoint, visit TSA.gov, or send a tweet
or direct message, to @AskTSA #Check4TheStar, or call us
at 866-289-9673.
