How to Fix Error Too Many Redirects Issue in WordPress

August 26, 2019

Hey there and thanks for watching WPBeginner.
Today you’ll learn how to fix the too many redirects issue in WordPress error. If you see an error like this on your site
it’s likely from a misconfigured plugin that is causing an infinite redirect loop between
two urls. For instance, if you go to your general settings
page and have your WordPress address like this and site address like this that’s fine,
But be sure you didn’t set your web host preference to add the www and this area doesn’t
have the www because then it will bounce back between the two urls. Now if you don’t have access to your WordPress
admin, then you can go into your wp-config.php file and add these two lines of code like this to it. You can also disable all plugins to see if
that fixes the redirect issue. If it does fix it then one of the plugins is causing the issue
and you can activate each plugin one by one to find the offending plugin. I hope you liked this video and found it helpful. If you did, click on the like button below and leave us a comment. 1. Thank you, it worked! one of my plugins was responsible. Great video: short but rich and straight to the point.Thx

  2. Hi. My problem is that when I log in to the WordPress admin page, the login works but am redirected to the homepage instead. What should I do to solve this? Thanks in advance.

  3. Worked Beautifully! I went into cPanel, File Manager, highlighted WP-Config.php, hit edit in the menu and added the code, saved, and bam – my site was back!
It had been down for two days after Updating the WP core from 4.4.2 to WP 4.5.1. Somehow that messed with this site, but not two other sites I have with the same theme and plugins?? Rolling Back the DB with BackUpBuddy did not help – still a blank page with "too many redirects" message. Thanks for this great YouTube and a helpful fix that worked in my case!

  4. This error also occurs when you change a setting in PLESK. In hosting settings I changed preferred domain from <none> to <> and wordpress stopped working.

  5. Hello, will the hosting provider be able to fix this issue? or can they at least give guidance on how to do it?

  6. I get this error " PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'C:xamppphpext/' – C:xamppphpext/ cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0" and many more, I added code to create n error log and this is what I got. Please help.

  7. Here is another possible cause and solution to this error.

  8. Didn't work for me at all, our issue is that I turned on ssl in the admin, right after that it refreshed and wanted want to https:// and showed the too many redirects issue…

  9. it sometime happen when you add some wrong plugin.. i have also faced this issue and also resolved it when i removed that plugin which causes this issue.. so just remove your plugin and your site will work fine ๐Ÿ™‚
