Legacy Aviation is a full-service aviation
company headquartered at Northeast Philadelphia Airport. With our diverse fleet of aircraft we provide
flight training for recreational pilots and for candidates who seek training in preparation
for aviation careers. Our flight training programs include the Airline
Cadet Program in which eligible trainees can look forward to part reimbursements of tuition
fees, en route to positions with American Airlines. With our Veterans Program we are proud to
provide flight training services to the many men and women who have served in the armed
forces. We also partner with community colleges to
provide a Professional Piloting Program and we are an established school, SEVP (Study
in the States) certified, that welcomes international students. Our assorted fleet of aircraft is not only
available for training but also for self-fly hire at competitive rates. The fleet includes several Piper Seneca, Warrior,
Archer, and Arrow aircraft. We also have two Grumman Tigers and two Cessna
Skyhawks. Our skilled and experienced mechanics provide
aircraft maintenance services specializing in Piper, Cessna, and Grumman models and they
also service Bonanza, Diamond, and Cirrus aircraft. Our location provides access to a terrific
airport that has a 7,000 ft instrument runway, and another 5,000 ft runway, and an operating
control tower. Northeast Philadelphia Airport is in a busy
area that contains a great deal of air traffic but new flyers need not be daunted by this
prospect. Right from the start our students are trained
to work professionally with air traffic control during all stages of flight, from pre-taxi
to landing and missed approaches. This builds valuable confidence and ability
that ensures our pilots, whether they fly for recreation, business, or as professionals,
develop important skills and habits early on. Our experienced team of professional instructors
includes a Chief Pilot Instructor who has nearly 40 years of experience in pilot training
that includes general, corporate, and airline aviation. He has graduated over 7,000 pilots, 800 of
whom are flying for commercial airlines. Legacy Aviation provides flight training under
both sets of FAA training regulations, FAR part 141 and FAR part 61 and we are the only
school in Philadelphia with an FAA Part 141 rating. Here are a just a few of the many testimonials
we have have received from students and pilots. “The CFI training I’m receiving at Legacy
Aviation has been better than anything I could have expected. My instructor has gone out of his way to give
me all the knowledge he has attained over the decades of flying” ~ Mark Robinson, Certified
Flight Instructor Student. “My instructor was extremely professional
and thorough and made me feel like I was in good hands. He is also friendly, which made lessons very
enjoyable. The school’s flexibility and wide aircraft
availability ensured I could make quick progress” ~ Mark Arpels Amez-Droz. “Kind, calm and patient describe my instructor,
Patrick, who was professional and funny, and he kept me calm on my first fixed wing flight”
~ Maurice Wilson. “Huge ‘Thank You’ to Joseph Montone who asked
me what my inspiration was for taking this class. Otherwise, I would have never given a thought
of why I really wanted to do this. Every moment at Legacy Aviation was a remarkable
example of how the adventure should be like. Loved my experience of flying the plane for
the first time. Great instructor with a sense of how to teach
a newbie and answer all the questions” ~ Tarika Chawla. So whether you’re looking for a flight school,
