Welcome to WPBeginner and thank you for watching.
In this video we’ll show you how and why you should limit login attempts to your WordPress
site. By default WordPress lets users enter password
as many times as they want. And this give hackers ample opportunity to use scripts to enter different password combinations to your site until they get in. To limit this activity, install and activate the
Login LockDown plugin. Then we’ll go to Settings–>Login LockDown to configure. Here you can choose how many times that a user can
try to gain access, the lockdown length, and lockout on invalid username. Once you’ve done this, just hit save. Now hackers won’t be able to try unlimited
times to gain access to your site. If you like this video click on the like button and go ahead and leave us a comment there, we’d love to hear from you. And subscribe to our YouTube channel to get the latest videos.

Hey, I posted this question on the other video regarding limit login:
Hey, thanks for the video! I have a question: Both plugins, "Limit Login Attempts" and "Login Lockdown" have not been updated for a long time (the former for 4 years!). Hence both are not compatible with the newest WP version and I've read that this is a security risk. "Limit Login Attempts" had not been updated for three years when you released this video; why? How often does a developer need to update a plugin in general?
