Spend the Night Onboard An Aircraft Carrier | USS Midway Museum

October 10, 2019

Hello Midway Family, my name is Jamie and I work in the Youth and Leadership Department aboard the USS Midway Museum and we have a very exciting opportunity coming up for you to spend the night before the aircraft carrier after watching “Moana” [the movie] on August 18! Now if you’d love to I’m going to take you on a short adventure of what’s to come and all the exciting things to happen here aboard the museum! Welcome back and here we are aboard the flight deck of the Midway Museum! Now this giant thing behind me is the island and that’s where you’ll be viewing “Moana” on August 18 On that night, we’re gonna have a ton of fun with a DJ, face painting, dancing & so much more But as our Overnight guests you’re going to enjoy reserved seating & after the movie is over enjoy exclusive time on the flight deck underneath the stars! However, the adventures does continue. So if you follow me, we’re going “downstairs” to berthing! Okay, and here we are right below the flight deck in the gallery berthing area. For all of you not sailors out there “berthing” means sleeping quarters and these are our racks. This is actually where enlisted sailors would sleep when the ship was active duty and you can too with your friends and family aboard the Midway after the Moana movie night. In the morning you get a wake up, spend a little more time on the flight deck and enjoy a nice continental breakfast. Our adventure is almost over. So please come with me… Thank you so much for exploring the ship with me! I hope you had as much fun as I did. Now if you’re looking for more information on the Moana Movie or the Family Overnight, please visit us at www.midway.org support or follow us on Facebook Instagram or Twitter! I look forward to seeing you on August 18, where you can walk in the footsteps of true Midway Sailors! Bye!
