WordPress Tutorial: How to Schedule a Post

August 30, 2019

Hi and welcome to WordPress.com. This video will show you
how to schedule a post on your WordPress.com blog. You can schedule blog posts
to automatically publish themselves at any time in the future. When you’re in the post editor,
click on the calendar icon on the blue Publish button. Using the calendar that appears,
select the future date and time you’d like the post to publish. Use the left/right arrows
to change the month, change the year by moving
your cursor over the year, and clicking on the arrows that appear. Click on any day to select it. Adjust the time using the two
inputs at the bottom. You can also edit the date and time
manually at the top of the calendar. As soon as you set a future date or time,
the Publish button will change to say Schedule. When looking at the calendar,
the currently selected date will be indicated with a blue dot,
and today’s date will have a dark circle. Dates when other posts are
already scheduled to be published are indicated with a light blue outline. You can move your cursor over these
dates to see what posts are scheduled for that day. If you’ve scheduled a post to be published
in the future, but changed your mind and want to publish it immediately,
head back to the Dashboard and click on your scheduled posts. This will say Scheduled and how much
time before the post publishes. Click to Edit the post, and on the right,
click on the button Revert to Draft, and publish immediately. And that’s it! For more tips and tricks,

  1. I run a website which provides sports live stream. I want to notify subscriber to know my website published a new post about the match, so they can come and enjoy the full match without miss a minute. I want to notify subscriber before 10 minutes of match start. Now I want a system to publish the post before the post time (scheduled time). Is it possible by WordPress?

  2. This is wrong and apparently outdated. My Publish button doesn't have a calendar icon on it. It just says "Publish …"
